The meeting was Call to Order and Attendance.

  • The meeting started with reading of ASHRAE Code of Ethics. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Rajesh Jain-President, ASHRAE India Chapter. He introduced all the office bearers and BOG members and presented the MBOs for the current SY 2023-24. President requested all members to attend all the BOG meetings.
  • He mentioned this year’s society theme is ‘Decarbonization’ and all our programs including webinars, workshops and conferences should be in line with the society theme.

01 Announced the mega conference planned for the month of December, ‘India Decarbonization Conference’. Tentative committee has been formed. The event may be held in Hotel Pride Plaza, Aerocity in New Delhi. Conference Committee Members
02 This event will be called -the event of RAL, to be hosted by AIC. DRC- Mr. Richie Mittal during discussion mentioned that AIC would not be able to have an association with ISHRAE for the conference, as this event is going to be a RAL event. This issue has to be discussed considering long-term association of AIC with DCI. President AIC
03 Another event is to be planned with International Building Performing Simulation association or Importance of simulation studies in HVAC. IBIPSA is a society and the President of the Society Mr. Adil suggested to have a workshop, to be led by AIC
A committee of 7-8 people has to be formed, in which 4-5 people from AIC and 3-4 from IBIPSA (International Building Performance Simulation Association).
This may be planned with half/full day programs in India Habitat Centre for the gathering of 60-70 people preferably in either last week of September or first week of October-2023.
CTTC Chair
04 It was discussed that the AIC flagship event ‘AIC TECH’, can be merged with the Installation ceremony of SY-2024-25. CTTC Chair and President Elect to plan
05 AIC have set a target of minimum 25 seminars/webinars to be held in the current SY 2023-24. The Topics& the dates are to be finalized. CTTC Chair along with concerned
06 Sh. Dinesh Gupta suggested that Mr. BRIAN MONK DL from the US will be traveling from the 6thto the 10thNovember 2023.
A technical session to be planned by AIC and other chapters also to be proposed for his session.

Student Activities: Chair – Dr. Rajinder Singh
01 Student Activities as held last year are to be planned for colleges of different student branches. SA Chair
02 An email to be sent to engineering colleges of AIC region having relevant branches of engineering, mentioning about ASHRAE and a session can be provided mentioning the benefits for the colleges & students to have a student branch. SA Chair
03 Various technical tour and visit to cold storage to be planned. SA Chair
04 Flagship events for the students – Football and Cricket to be continued this year also. SA Chair
YEA Activities: Chair – Dimpy Daroch
01 YEA membership needs improvement and various program are to be organized to attract them. YEA Chair
02 YEA team to support in CTTC activities and should actively take part in all the programs to plan, manage, and execute as well. YEA Chair and CTTC Chair
03 Leadership weekend to be planned at nearby areas of Delhi for the YEA and senior members. YEA Chair
04 This year our society president has announced a project grant of $ 1000- $ 10000 for a project related to Decarbonization. Team YEA has been given the responsibility to find and encourage competitors from affiliate and associate members. YEA Chair
Sustainability Activities: Chair – Arundhati Singh Khanna
01 Webinar and social events on sustainability to be planned. Sustainability Chair with CTTC Chair
02 Awareness of sustainability to be developed among the school students. Known schools can be approached to organize sustainability programs. Sustainability Chair
03 IPP- Kanagaraj Ganesan suggested to plan sustainability program with BEE. BEE conducts competitions for the school students, AIC cab also partner with them to conduct the competitions in 2-3 schools. IPP, President and Sustainability Chair
04 In community sustainability, we need to plan the event for this society year. Sustainability Chair

Membership promotion Activities: Chair- Waliullah Siddiqui
01 This year we have set a target to have 50 new members and to retain the existing members. Membership Promotion Chair
02 AIC will plan for a membership support fund for those who have genuine finance-related issues.The office bearers will decide who should get the discount for MP.
03 Sh. Sandeep Goel suggest making a flyer and circulate on social media mentioning the benefit of joining ASHRAE and to be a part of AICmembership group where a member can advantage of learning. Secretariat Staff to prepare a flyer
04 All the new members to be welcomed on LinkedIn on joining& in the Newsletter every month. Secretariat Staff along with ECC Team
Research Promotion Activities: Chair – Ashish Gupta
01 The RP target set by RVC for the society year 2023-24 is $ 2520
02 All the office bearers should contribute in RP fund before CRC to complete the full circle. Office Bearers
03 President advised to plan RP collection in all the programs of AIC, even if it’s a half-day workshop.
04 All AIC members to be encouraged to contribute to the research fund. BOG Members and Chapter Officers

01 An ASHRAE template has been provided to the website developer and most likely in August 1stweek a new website of AIC will be there. All attendees were requested to visit the website and provide their valuable suggestions. ECC Chair

03 Upcoming events to be published on a regular basis. ECC Chair
04 All the chairs are requested to share their plans or activities with photograph to the team ECC every month. All Committee Chairs

01 A half-day event with Delhi Fire Service (DFS) is to be planned. President and Vice-President
02 The suggestion was to develop software in collaboration with DFS.Software should consist of smoke management-related calculations, Staircase pressurization etc. President and Vice-President
03 The Bureau of Indian Standard to be contacted for AIC involvement in developing NBC next revision. Vice-President
